Commissioned as part of a lecture program at the University of Bergen, Manifesto Piece is not a manifesto itself, but rather a coming-together of thoughts and ideas of what a manifesto is, can be and what they really mean. Does a manifesto have to be solid? Or can it be fluid, changing its shape and content according to context and external influences, like airflow over a wing. Perhaps for me, the artist, it is important that I do not feel permanently restricted by a manifesto, but have something in place as a point of reference to stay anchored. Something to turn back to if turbulence is met.
